Inspiration for visual image comes from crossed letters, manuscript letters which contains two separate sets of writing, one written over the other. This was done during the early days of the postal system to save on postage charges and on paper. It's a kind of evolution of Palimpsests. I like to think there were secret messages, hidden here and there... The idea of mixing and matching different messages is connected with the idea of dialogue, interactions, connections with different points of view showed simultaneously. A summary of the concept behind the Summit, which is an occasion to analize Early Music panorama and make plan for the future.
The main title Our future past stays unvaried on all communication applications. It matches with a second sentence (Early Music in Context, Early Music in Continuum, Early Music in Conquest...) as if there were two different people presenting their point of view. Additional information use friezes and flourish, a clear remind to ancient manuscripts and frontispieces. While main visuals plays with a classical and elegant colour palette (black, red and grey), web applications are enriched with a catching, neon-colour palette. Once again, our future meets out past.
Organised by REMA, the European Early Music Network in partnership with BOZAR and the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
